PERSONALIZED YOGA IN THE WPG, SELKIRK, TYNDALL & BEAUSEJOUR AREAS IN MANITOBA

Having practiced Yoga on and off for the past 9 years, I am currently completing my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in multi-practice yoga, as well as completing my 30-hour certification in Children’s Yoga.
I practice Yoga and meditation on a daily basis and am constantly looking for ways to improve myself and my practice.
With roots in Beausejour, MB, my dream is to serve the Manitoba community as a whole, as I know access can be restricted when it comes to fitness in rural areas.
WHY JOIN MY PRACTICE?…

Pranayama/Asana:
One of the most important parts of the Yoga practice is controlled breathing. I will teach you to slow down and connect with your body on a second-by-second basis. Pranayama means “breath control” in Sanskrit. Being in sync with your breathing calms the nerves, opens the mind and creates balance and control.
Various benefits of using controlled breathing (there are various types) include:
- lower blood pressure
- decreased anxiety
- stress relief
- calming effects on the nervous system
- detoxifies the body
- improves lung function
- emotional control
- inner peace

YOGA FOR ALL:
When I set out to become a yoga instructor, the first thought that popped into my mind was that at some point I wanted to provide classes to people in the following categories: low-income, minorities, the physically and intellectually disabled and those who feel like they don’t fit in.
I have experienced many hardships in my life and I have been able to find a great deal of peace practicing yoga and its teachings. I feel that sharing this gift with those who need it most and have the least access, is what is important to me.

SPECIAL NEEDS YOGA:
I am very passionate about making yoga and fitness in general available to people of all abilities. I will teach you proper poses with modifications designed to place less of a strain on your body. These restorative-type classes involve the use of props such as yoga blocks, straps and bolsters that are used as extensions of the body. At any ability level, you deserve to be healthy, feel confident and have a more balanced life.
Yoga for Children is also something I am looking to teach. With the days getting busier and technology becoming paramount in our lives, it’s important to instil a sense of self-awareness, rest and restoration, and the importance of a mind-body connection early on.
